Grande Baroque is one of Wallace's most stately and splendid sterling silver flatware designs. Created by master silversmith William Warren in 1941, the pattern has been dressing tables with elegant sophistication ever since. This 4-piece set contains a salad fork, a dinner fork, a dinner knife, and a teaspoon. Each piece is drawn with detailed baroque styling that is substantial but exquisite. The handles feature a classic acanthus leaf at the shank and broaden gracefully into a highly wrought base accented with a gorgeous flower--a rose on the knife, a narcissus on the forks, and a five-petal blossom on the spoon. Arcing cutouts add a lacy touch to the design.
Heirloom-quality, the flatware is nonetheless suitable for frequent or even daily dining and will, in fact, gain luster with use. It can even be cleaned in the dishwasher, though drying by hand is recommended.
